Matthew Stephenson
«It happened about 20 years ago, when I visited Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I was impressed by the variety of pieces of art exhibited in Russian museums, and that was the exact time when I realized that I wanted to deal with art » (Matthew Stephenson, Kommersant)
«The main thing for a real collector is to buy what he likes, to be an expert in this sphere and to determine how much money he is ready to spend on each piece of art (или artwork). Contemporary art is the best area to start with, because everyone can easily understand it. It surrounds us, it is easy to find and study. Contemporary artists are constantly talked over, they are in media, they are known by sight» (Matthew Stephenson, RBC)
